The Pinellas County Equity Index, produced in April 2019 by UNITE Pinellas and PolicyLink, tells us where our community stands on a variety of important indicators. A growing number of local organizations and individuals are using this data to take action for equity.


Tiger Bay: The Legacy of Race & Racism in the 'Burg

On June 27, 2019 Tiger Bay welcomed a carefully selected panel of community members and experts to discuss race and the legacy of racism in the St. Petersburg. The panel included Gwendolyn Reese, president of the African American Heritage Association; Imam Askia Muhammad Aquil, community activist and faith leader; Winnie Foster, grassroots activist; and Tim Dutton, executive director of UNITE Pinellas. It was moderated by Pinellas County Commissioner and Tiger Bay member Ken Welch.


UNITE Pinellas Equity Profile Event

April 18, 2019

On April 18, 2019, over 350 community leaders, elected officials, nonprofit heads and equity advocates came together to share the results of the first Pinellas Equity Profile, a countywide assessment measuring economic and quality of life outcomes for residents through an equity lens.
